Expired Registration – 31 January 2018

The Renewal of Registration period for teachers due to expire on 31 January 2018 has ended.

If your registration was due to be renewed by 31 January 2018 and you have not submitted your Application for Renewal of Registration, you are no longer registered to teach in South Australia.

If you wish to be reinstated on the Register of Teachers, you will need to submit a Modified Expiry Application for Teacher Registration form.

A Modified Expiry Application form will only be accepted until 28 February 2018.

 

Mandatory Notification Training Requirement

The majority of teachers must undertake an approved update Mandatory Notification Training course within their previous term of registration. The update Mandatory Notification Training course can be undertaken online at:

If you have not already forwarded a copy of your certificate of completion to the Board, you must submit a copy with your Modified Expiry Application for Teacher Registration.

Please note:

  • The Responding to Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care online course provided by DECD is the only acceptable online Mandatory Notification Training course. All other courses undertaken online are not acceptable for registration purposes
  • ‘Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum’ training courses are not acceptable for registration purposes
  • Some employers, including the Department for Education and Child Development, require applicants for employment purposes to have undertaken courses delivered by specific providers (Responding to Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care Training)

If you received initial registration under the Mutual Recognition Agreement or have not previously completed a Department for Child Protection approved full day (7-hour) MNT course due to residing overseas or interstate you must provide a certified copy of your certificate of completion with your application form.

  • Some employers, including the Department for Education and Child Development, require applicants for employment purposes to have undertaken courses delivered by specific providers (Responding to Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care Training).
