Extension of Registration
Applications to extend your Registration will be sent to your postal address in mid to late November.
Please note:
- the renewal form should be lodged at least one month prior to expiry
- the onus is on you to complete the renewal and return it with both Mandatory Notification certification documents and the prescribed fee before 31 December
- contact the Board if you do not receive your application to extend your registration by late November
- a reminder notice will be placed in a range of media including The Advertiser, local newspapers, and other publications
- your name will be automatically removed from the Register of Teachers if you have not renewed your registration by the expiry date
- there is no grace period after the expiry date
Failure to renew registration
If your name has been removed from the register following failure to renew your registration before the expiry date a reinstatement fee of $90 is required. You may also be required to consent to a criminal record check at a cost of $23.
If your registration expires you may need to:
- lodge a new application with supporting documentation attesting to your academic credentials and teaching experience
- undergo assessment to determine eligibility for registration on the basis of the Board's current minimum qualification requirements
- undergo a criminal record check
- pay registration and other fees
Have you changed your name and / or address
Pursuant to Section 28 (4) of the Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004 a registered teacher must notify the Registrar within 28 days of any change of name or address. Maximum penalty $1250, Expiation fee $160.
