1. I would like to apply for registration as a teacher. What are the requirements?

2. How do I get an 'Australian Teaching Certificate'?

No, an 'Application For Assessment of Qualifications' cannot be lodged electronically. There is no closing date.

5. I will be completing my teaching qualification this year. Can I lodge an application to have my qualifications assessed before I complete my studies?
No, you cannot lodge an application to have your qualifications assessed until you have completed your studies.
6. Will you recognise my professional teaching licence, and overseas teaching qualification?

7. Is it necessary to have a work visa or an offer of employment before I can get registered as a teacher in South Australia?
No, you do not need a work visa or an offer of employment in order to either lodge an application for assessment of qualifications or to lodge an application for teacher registration. For full details concerning the process click here.
8. I need a visa to work in Australia. Can you help me with this?
You need to contact the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) through its website at http://www.dimia.gov.au/ or speak to a DIMIA officer at your nearest Australian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.
9. I want to teach in Australia. Can you help me with employment?

11. Do I need to have my qualifications assessed again by your Board when I already have an assessment from Teaching Australia for migration under the general skilled category?
Yes, the assessment completed by the Board is a pre-requisite to be registered as a teacher in South Australia.The Teaching Australia (or its predecessor AEI-NOOSR) assessment is strictly for immigration purposes only, and is not a substitute for the formal assessment of qualifications that is undertaken by this Board.
