Qualifications Requirements
Minimum Prescribed Qualifications for Registration
Pursuant to Section 4(1) of the Teachers Registration and Standards Regulations 2005 the qualifications required for registration as a teacher are as follows:
| (a) | an approved teacher education degree, diploma or other qualification awarded on satisfactory completion of a tertiary course of pre-service teacher education in pre-school, primary or secondary education that — | ||||||||||

The Teachers Registration Board has determined that under these Regulations, the duration of the practical student teaching component's duration must be at least 45 days.
The Board has determined what is meant by "Tertiary Qualifications", refer to Policy for Qualifications Acceptable for the purposes of registration as a Teacher in South Australia.
Approved Australian Pre-Service Teacher Education Programs

Overseas Teaching Qualifications
Applicants who hold overseas teaching qualifications will need to lodge an Application for Assessment of Qualifications to determine whether the minimum prescribed qualifications requirements has been met. Refer to Assessment of Qualifications for more information.
