Stephen Yarwood - Biography

Stephen is an Urban Futurist who explores preferred futures for communities and corporations by consulting on governance, leadership, strategic planning, place-making and urban development.

He is an adjunct lecturer at the Adelaide University Business School and Canberra University Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis and is the founder of city2050; a consultancy specialising in long term strategic planning that recognise the social, environmental, economic and technological issues that are redefining the operating system of cities this century.

Stephen has lectured at several universities in Australia and Asia, is a regular speaker at various events and has been a keynote presenter at both national and international conferences.  He has studied in both Japan and Denmark on scholarship, as well as undertaken study tours and/or led business delegations to Europe (including Scandinavia), North America, the Middle East, New Zealand and throughout Asia. He has also been employed as an educator in Thailand and Singapore.

From 2010 to 2014 Stephen was the Lord Mayor of Adelaide; the youngest person to ever hold this title.
