Annual Survey
  
The results of the Annual Survey of Teachers, conducted in conjunction with Independent and Catholic schools and the DECD, are in. The survey, designed to ensure that only registered teachers are teaching in South Australian education sites, provides an interesting overview of the characteristics that make up the South Australian teaching profession as at 9 February 2015.
 
Did you know over 25% of teachers in SA are aged between 22 and 34 years? Or that nearly 30% have been registered between 30 and 39 years?

Professional Learning Opportunity
Explicit teaching techniques for reading and spelling
SPELD SA is holding a two hour session that will demonstrate teaching strategies and techniques designed to develop automatic decoding and spelling skills. If this is relevant to your professional context, it can be used as part of your professional learning if referenced to the APST.
