1. When can I apply for renewal of registration?
If your registration expires on 31 January 2016, your application for renewal will be available online through the Teachers Portal from 19 October. You will have until 31 December 2015 to complete and submit your form.

2. Do I need to provide my Mandatory Notification Training (MNT) and First Aid certificates?
You will need to submit a copy of your MNT certificate. First Aid is not required for teacher registration but it is recommended you check your employer’s requirements.
3. Do I need to obtain an Australian police check before my renewal?
The Board does not require or accept other Australian police checks for teacher registration. As part of your renewal application you will consent to the Board undertaking a new National Police History Check on your behalf (included in the registration fee). The date of your last National Police History Check is printed on your certificate of teacher registration and is valid until your registration expires.

Renewal and professional learning
How do I prove that I have completed at least 60 hours of Professional Learning?
As part of your renewal application you will be required to declare that you have undertaken at least 60 hours of professional learning within your current term of registration. You should be keeping a summary record of your professional learning but you do not need to submit this unless requested.
Recording your professional learning on the portal makes it easy to access, edit and update. Register for an account here.
