Are you provisionally registered?

If you are, it is expected that you apply to transition to (full) registration if you meet the requirements, as a teacher may only hold provisional registration for up to six years. Find out the requirements to transition from provisional to (full) registration on our website. DECD is holding a Graduate to Proficient Workshop on Tuesday 19 April, 8.30am – 4pm at EDC Hindmarsh.

Literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education students
The Literacy and Numeracy test for initial teacher education (ITE) students will be available for graduates of ITE programs from 16 May 2016.
The Teachers Registration Board of South Australia understands that the test is a retrospective requirement and that on enrolment current ITE students did not have a requirement to sit this test. Therefore, while we encourage all currently enrolled ITE student teachers to take the test, in fairness, it will not be mandated for this group of student teachers.
All South Australian students commencing an ITE program after 1 January 2017 will be required to pass the test prior to graduation. Find out more here.
