Illustrations of Early Childhood Teacher practice

Early childhood teachers (ECTs) are required to reference the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers  when they complete their registration requirements. Visiting learning environments and observing ECTs at work is a great way to see what meeting the standards looks like.

However, as such opportunities are often not available to ECTs, the Victorian Institute of Teaching has partnered with the Australian Institute of School Leadership to produce six Illustrations of Practice that reference kindergarten teaching in early childhood services. The videos are a great resource for provisionally registered early childhood teachers and their mentors that provide snapshots of the practice of ECTs in Victorian early childhood services. You can watch them here.
