Transitioning from provisional to (full) registration?

The TRB has recently reviewed its transition procedures and the following changes have been adopted by the Board.
  • The application to Transition from Provisional to (full) Registration must be submitted within 6 months of the date of the evaluator’s recommendation.

  • Evaluations must be undertaken at a teacher’s current or most recent teaching site unless there are exceptional circumstances.
  • Provisionally registered teachers must have completed one year’s full-time (or part-time equivalent of 200 days) satisfactory teaching service before an evaluator can make a recommendation for (full) registration.
  • Applications can be counter-signed by a professional leader with direct responsibility for teachers at the site i.e. Deputy Principal, Head of School, Campus Leader in place of the Principal/site leader.
The TRB website has been upgraded to reflect these changes and there is also a new application form. Find out more on our website.
