Professional learning opportunities
The South Australian Maritime Museum is holding a free Bound for South Australia and Exploration digital learning session for history teachers, years 4-6. Engage with using iPads (provided) to explore ways students can use museum exhibits and respond to inquiry questions using a variety of forms. Participants will receive a certificate towards 4 hours of professional development. Thursday 12 October, 8.45am - 1.00pm. Wear comfortable shoes and pants as participants will be climbing up and down ladders to board the vessel and climbing the lighthouse. The SA Maritime Museum, 126 Lipson Street, Port Adelaide. The Hartley Institute is holding a Critical, Creative and Collaborative Thinking workshop designed to help teachers and school leaders develop a culture of critical thinking and engagement with ethical issues within their schools. The South Australian Science Teachers Association and the Mathematical Association of SA are organising a STEM Conference & Expo on Friday 1 December at the Australian Science and Maths School for teachers of years 6-11. The program will include a keynote presentation in the morning followed by four sessions each with (1 hour) elective workshops.
