Humanities & Social Sciences (HASS) SA Conference Wrap-Up
 
 
The Humanities & Social Sciences (HASS) SA Conference was held earlier this year at the Magill Campus of UniSA. The conference brought together educators from across the humanities and social science sectors for two days of HASS inspired workshops and field trips.
The Teachers Registration Board sponsored 15 early career and country teachers who spent the weekend learning and networking with like-minded educators. You can read their conference reports on our website here.

The Media Centre for Education Research Australia (MCERA) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to better informing the public on education issues. They are launching Informed Sources: Latest Educational Research for Australian Schools which provides principals with easy and accessible articles on relevant, recently published educational research. Professional learning opportunities
The Voices of Autism is a free online course offered by Torrens University. Running from 30 April to 1 June, the 5 week course will require approximately 2 hours online, on-demand, per week. Find out more here.
 
The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is offering free online professional learning programs on Safety and Respect Online. Starting from 1 May. Find out more here.

  • Setting Up Break Places in the Classroom for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Friday 15 June, 9:30am-12:30pm. Cost: members $85, non-members $90.

The Hartley Institute in partnership with Agile Schools is holding Foundations of Learning Sprints – an opportunity to join Ricky Campbell-Allen and learn about a framework for developing strategies to improve student outcomes. A full-day program designed to develop the individual and collective expertise of teachers. Tuesday 5 June, 9:00am-3:30pm at the Hartley Institute, Dequetteville Terrace, Kent Town. The Orff Association of SA (OSASA) is running Music in the Classroom, a half -day music workshop on Saturday 26th May, 9:00am-12:30pm. This workshop is practical and hands-on and will provide lots of great lesson ideas and activities that can be implemented into your classroom program. There will be resources for sale on the day.
