World Teachers Day will be celebrated in Australia on Friday 30 October.

The day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank all South Australian teachers for the important work they do within classrooms and school communities. 

The TRB recognises and thanks all of our teachers and acknowledges their valuable work each and every day.

Get involved

You can get involved in World Teachers Day by taking part in the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership's (AITSL) World Teachers' Day campaignThis includes a #brightfuture photo campaign on social media, a fun foto frame to take your World Teachers’ Day photo, posters and other downloadable content.

Teachers serve a vital role in our society;
 they act as mentors, experts and role models for future generations.

Roofclimb Competition

The TRB is holding our annual Adelaide Oval Roofclimb competition again this year and 14 lucky teachers will embark on an unforgettable experience on Friday 30 October. Check back here in early November for photos!

Educators SA World Teachers Day Awards

While there will not be a live award ceremony this year, the Educators SA World Teachers Day Awards will be held on 30 October. We will publish details of the winner of the TRB Induction & Mentoring Early Career Educators Award once they have been announced.

History of World Teachers Day

Celebrated internationally on 5 October, World Teachers’ Day was established in 1994 by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to recognise the vital role of qualified teachers in our society.
