Cancellation of Registration under 24a
Pursuant to section 24A of the Act the registration of a teacher is automatically cancelled when the teacher is prohibited from working with children (i.e. becomes a prohibited person) when:
- The teacher is issued a prohibition notice under the South Australian Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016.
- The teacher becomes prohibited from working with children under a law of the Commonwealth, or of another State or Territory
- The teacher becomes a prohibited person by virtue of having been found guilty of a prescribed offence (within the meaning of the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016).
If the issue of the prohibition notice to the teacher is set aside by the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal or any other court, the cancellation of the teacher's registration under this section will be taken to be void and of no effect.
