Renew Your Registration
If a person wishes to be employed as a teacher, principal or director in a school or prescribed service in South Australia they must be registered with the Board. Renewal of registration continues to verify you as a qualified teaching professional and formally acknowledges your professional learning.

Under s20 of the Teachers Registratoin and Standards Act 2004, which sets out the exemption from the need to be registered:
However, subsections (1) and (3) (inclusive) do not apply in relation to:
(a) a person acting in accordance with a special authority to teach granted by the Teachers Registration Board under Part 6; or
(b) a person, or person of a class, prescribed by the regulations which are:
(1) a person employed as a director at a prescribed education and care service (not being a person who personally provides pre-school education or early childhood teaching services at the prescribed education and care service)
(2) a person who employs a person as a director at a prescribed education and care service
