Changes to providing evidence of RRHAN training to TRB

In an effort to reduce the burden on teachers, from the 21st of March 2024, changes to the South Australia Teachers Registration and Standards Regulation 2024 mean that the requirement for the TRB to collect proof showing the completion of a mandatory notification course (e.g. RRHAN) for teachers registering or renewing has been removed.

The welfare and best interests of children remain the paramount consideration

  • All teachers and special authority holders are still expected to undertake mandatory notification training (e.g. RRHAN).
  • You will be required to produce evidence of this training to your employer.
  • You will no longer be required to provide this evidence to the Teachers Registration Board upon registration or renewal.
  • This amendment relates specifically to reducing the burden on teachers to provide the same evidence to two distinct authorities.
  • All teachers and SAT holders must be competent educators, and fit and proper persons to have the care of children.
